Trade Facilitation in South Asia
As part of various regional cooperation and integration programs, including the World Bank’s Accelerating Transport and Trade Connectivity in Eastern South Asia (ACCESS), the Asian Development Bank (ADB)’s South Asia South East Asia Connectivity (SASEC) Programme, and USAID’s Cross-Border Infrastructure and Connectivity Project (CBIC), our core team members have facilitated cross-border trade between India, Bangladesh, Nepal, the Maldives, and Sri Lanka through the following interventions:
- Streamlining and harmonizing policies in trading countries.
- Assessing logistics and infrastructure bottlenecks.
- Leveraging technology to enhance transit-related processes and institutional coordination, thereby improving regional competitiveness.
- Supporting countries in exploring export and investment opportunities in key sectors (Green energy and technology, logistics and transportation, medical equipment and ICT)
